The Crow is a 1994 American action-thriller film adaptation of the 1989 comic book of the same name. It stars Brandon Lee (who makes his final film appearance) as Eric Draven, an unfortunate guitarist and rock musician who, along with his love Shelly Webster, is brutally murdered on Devil's Night, a night before their marriage. One year later, a crow resurrects Eric from the grave. Even after his demise, Eric is still suffering from the memories of all that happened and those responsible. He soon discovers that he possesses fast regeneration and is also immune to physical harm. Donning dark attire and painting his face like a harlequin mask, Eric is guided by the crow to avenge the murders of himself and his love by killing the perpetrators.
With the crow's assistance, Eric tracks down the members of a criminal gang, all of whom were involved in the events that had transpired on that fateful night. When Eric returns to his grave at the church, the crow is injured as it enters the church, causing Eric to lose his invincibility. Though weakened, Eric ascends the bell tower and onto the roof, where he encounters the controller of the city's criminal gangs. Just as Eric is about to lose the battle that ensues, he gives the crime lord the thirty hours of pain he absorbed from Albrecht, an officer who was there at the scene of the crime. With his duties finally fulfilled, Eric is reunited with Shelly at their grave sites and is carried away to the realm of the dead. The crow can afterwards be seen flying off into the night.
The film spawned several sequels (The Crow: City of Angels, The Crow: Salvation, and The Crow: Wicked Prayer), as well as a television series and numerous books and graphic novels. The character has since become a cult icon of modern Goth culture.
